Renovation Proposal

The project proposes an energy efficient renovation of a 1964 multi-storey residential building in Magisterparken, Aalborg, focusing on improving the building envelope and indoor climate to meet BR18 Renovation Class 1 requirements. It evaluates the existing conditions, applies methods such as U-value calculations, Glaser’s method, BE18, and BSim simulations, and develops improvement scenarios for walls, floors, and systems. Assuming different scenarios, the case is considering the most profitable option in order to save money and energy used in the building.

 

The study concludes with recommended retrofit strategies that significantly reduce energy use while enhancing thermal comfort, CO₂ levels, and humidity conditions for occupants.
