Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning

The report analyses the ventilation, heating, and cooling conditions at Herningvej Skole and finds that the current natural ventilation system is insufficient, causing high CO₂ levels and potential overheating.

The project started with extensive measures with Eltek systems monitoring school to define critical problems. Detailed indoor environment measurements show poor air quality and leakage issues. To address this, the study designs a full mechanical VAV ventilation system supported by CO₂-controlled airflow, optimized diffuser layouts, and properly dimensioned ductwork. Heating demand is calculated, and both radiator and underfloor heating systems are proposed for the most efficient solution for the building. Overall, the report concludes that modern mechanical ventilation and updated heating systems are necessary for improving comfort, energy efficiency, and compliance with Danish regulations.
